Parametric menu activity

 

 

OctoMY™has received a new menu system. I used to handcraft menus. It was a royal pain to manage, and I always had to redo it since the menus would change frequently. Since the activity system was introduced, I decided to leverage it and implement a generic menu screen that allows for dynamic menus to be made. It supports categories if you need them. It adapts to the available space neatly which is cool.

While this first version is already much better both for the user and for developers alike, it still has a lot of unfulfilled potential for the future. Here are some ideas;

• "launcher" style search functionality to find menu items
• Sort by most used
• Sort alphabetically
• Display dynamic status in the buttons
